Martin
Martin is a 1987 honors graduate of the University of California at Irvine and a 1992 graduate of the Tulane Law School where he served on the National Trial Team and was a member of Tulane’s Moot Court Board. After law school he served for a few years as coach of the National Trial Team at Tulane and thereafter taught trial advocacy in LSU’s summer program as an adjunct for some ten years. He now coaches little league and teaches baseball to 11 and 12-year-olds.
Martin has had a varied practice over the years. He started off as a defense lawyer at Blue, Williams and Buckley, a New Orleans based litigation defense firm. He left there to co-found a firm in Baton Rouge with two other lawyers where he practiced for twelve years before joining the Baton Rouge firm of Carleton, Dunlap, Olinde, Moore & Bohman in 2007. In 2010 he left private practice to become General Counsel for Offshore Marine Contractors, Inc., where he was General Counsel and a member of the executive management team there until returning to private practice in late 2015. This experience has proven very useful in defending companies, especially vessel owners and operators. He was in private practice again briefly before joining Harry.
Martin is married with two children, Grace and James. When not working Martin will generally be found spending time with one of them.
